Clean Laundry

It's Friday, I'm working from home.  Was thinking about throwing in a load of laundry and then I realized that not once, but TWICE, this week I put on workout clothes and didn't work out.  That usually happens like never.

First, I chickened out at the track meet Tuesday night.  And then yesterday morning I got dressed to run and went to our usual starting point.  I was kind of surprised we might be running because it was raining (no big deal), but there was also lightning that I could see several times (we never run in lightning).  Sure enough, as soon as I got there, I saw an email saying no go.

It couldn't have come at a better time.  The night before, we'd gone to the Rangers game with my best friend from junior high who was in town visiting.  And the game took forever.  The other team (Seattle) scored something like 21 runs against us.  The up-side:  when we left at the end of the game, there was almost no traffic!

But seriously, I'm not a big sports fan.  At a baseball game, I usually watch an inning or two, then go walk in search of food.  Wednesday night, we walked forever.  I wanted fries in a cup, my junior high friend wanted an ATM (WITH cash, the first one was out) and a very particular shirt, and my other friend wanted something to eat but she wasn't sure what.  We were gone so long that I bought and ate my fries and then got ice cream.  My friend got a smoothie.  My junior high friend got a beer, a baseball, and directions on where would to go to find the shirt he wanted.  We got back to our seats, and it was less than 2 innings later!  We seriously walked the entire stadium, and had barely missed any of the game.  Well, I guess we missed about 10-12 runs by the other team, but less than 2 innings.  Yikes.  Made for a long night and I knew when we got home after 11, that my 4:45 a.m. alarm was going to hurt.

So the canceled run was quite a bonus.

And now the double bonus, no running clothes load of laundry!

  1. I am still reading, but I guess it takes a mention of my Mariner's for me to comment! That score was more like a football score! Hope you're doing well. :)

    1. Haha! Good to know you're still there -- and hats off to the Mariners, the score was insane!
